Welcome

The health, safety, and development of NWAC student-athletes is the top priority of the NWAC.  Our approach is to develop the total student-athlete emphasizing growth in academics, athletics, and character.

Student-Athlete

Character

Character is at the root of what it means to be a student-athlete in the NWAC.  What drives the NWAC on the fundamental principle of character is the question, “What good is an increase in knowledge without a change of character?”  Lasting change and lasting differences happen character is rooted in integrity, respect, collective responsibility, sportsmanship, teamwork, and sportsmanship.  Following are resources on character growth and development.

Mind

What goes on in the inside of a student-athlete is as or more important that what happens on the outside. The development and the healthy maintenance of the mental side of a student-athlete’s performance is critical.  Following are resources on developing a healthy mental game plan to be a successful student-athlete.

Body

A healthy body is significant to being a successful student-athlete.  Following are resources to help create and maintain healthy and balanced lifestyle, so that the body can engage and compete at a high level.

COACHES

“A COACH will impact more young people in a year than the average person does in a lifetime.”  Dr. Reverend Billy Graham

Character

Coaches play a vital role in the development of a student-athlete. The impact or influence a coach has can have tremendous ramifications and with this comes elevated expectations and accountability on coaches. The health, safety, and development of NWAC student-athletes is the top priority of the NWAC.

Mind

Often times the last thing a coach thinks about is his/her own mental health.  In order to be a leader, the leader’s mind must be strong and healthy.  Following are resources for coaches to develop a healthy mental game plan to be a leader of young men and women.

Body

A coach needs to find time to take of his/her body.  With the amount of stress that comes with being an intercollegiate coach, one must maintain a healthy and balanced lifestyle.  Following are resources for coaches to develop a healthy physical lifestyle.
