Hawks Sweep Tritons to Reach NWAC Volleyball Final Four

LAKEWOOD, Wash. - The Columbia Basin Hawks swept (25-23, 25-17, 25-18) the Edmonds Tritons in the final Elite Eight matchup of the night at the 2024 NWAC Volleyball Championship on Friday at Pierce College.

Zuri Reeser had the most kills of all matches for the day as she recorded 22 of CBC's 39 kills. Reeser was busy all night as she had 64 total attacks. Playing all six rotations, Reeser also had 17 digs to go with a pair of aces. Kaylie Christopher supported with eight kills and 10 digs. Yajaira Meraz had 30 assists and 18 digs while Camille Collins had two solo blocks and two block assists.

The first two sets were close between the Hawks and Tritons. CBC won by just two points in set one to go up 1-0 in the match. The teams were once again close for most of the second set before the Hawks pulled away late. They kept the momentum into the third set to close out the sweep.

The Hawks hit .220 overall as a team and had a 7-3 block advantage. They limited Edmonds to .082 hitting with 27 errrors. 

Saydee Heslop paced the Trtions with 10 kills, adding 12 digs for a double-double. Tylee Miller had 18 digs, and Kiara Milar posted 19 assists and 14 digs.

The Tritons finish a sold year with another Elite Eight berth, while taking third place in the North Region.

Columbia Basin advances on into the Final Four, taking on North Region champions Skagit Valley on Saturday at 5 p.m.
