Bellevue, Highline Meet in Women’s Finals; Bellevue Men Undefeated at NWAC Tennis Championships

WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Bellevue and Highline women's tennis teams won their team duals to advance to Sunday's finals, while the Bellevue men's tennis squad went undefeated on Day 1 of the NWAC Tennis Championships at the Wenatchee Racquet and Athletic Club on Saturday.
The Bellevue women's team handles Treasure Valley in the first dual of the women's tournament, winning 9-0. Highline on the other hand had a tough match with Spokane, narrowly defeating the Sasquatch by a 5-4 score. Bellevue and Highline will meet in Sunday's finals at 12 p.m. Spokane and Treasure Valley will battle for third place at 9:30 a.m.
Bellevue dominated Day 1 on the men's side as their players went a combined 10-0. No. 1 singles player Cameron Yang has already clinched the individual title for Bellevue as he won 6-1, 6-0 over Spokane's Joren Hooper and 6-0, 6-0 against Treasure Valley's Spencer Bayes.
No. 2 singles players Zaid Khan of Bellevue is 1-0 in the No. 2 singles and will look to clinch on Sunday. Max Walters of TVCC and Jackson Stumpf of Bellevue are each 1-0 and will play for the winner of the No. 3 singles on Sunday. Bellevue's Hunter Austin won both his matches to take the No. 4 singles title. Manny Nguyen of Bellevue is 1-0 in the men's No. 5 singles while Treasure Valley's Chris Mott and Bellevue's Jack Nagler play for the No. 6 singles title on Sunday.
In the men's doubles, Yang and Khan won their first No. 1 doubles match 6-3, 6-0. Nagler and Austin for Bellevue also won their opening match in the No. 2 doubles. TVCC's Mott and Ricky Leyva won their No. 3 doubles match.
Action at the NWAC Tennis Championships will continue on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m.
