Green River College Names Savanna Dickson as Next Head Women’s Soccer Coach

AUBURN, Wash. - After serving as an assistant coach for the Gators this past season, Green River Athletics has announced the promotion of Savanna Dickson to Head Women's Soccer Coach.

Dickson is no stranger to the NWAC, having played there herself at Highline College from 2005–06. While at Highline, she was named to the All-Star team and All-League team, was a Division Champion and NWAC runner up.

Savanna brings a wealth of coaching experience, currently coaching at Pac NW Soccer Club, Washington Youth Soccer Elite Player Development (EPD) and Washington Premier League Surf Academy. She has previously coached at Mt. Rainier FC, Kentlake High School, and Auburn Youth Soccer. Dickson holds her USSF National C License and will pursue her USSF National B license this coming year.

Dickson's coaching philosophy is centered around not just developing athletes' skills on the field but also fostering a supportive environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth. This philosophy has served her well in leading players and teams that she has coached to achieve both team and individual success.

Athletic Director, Shannon Percell said of Dickson, "We are thrilled to have Savanna here to continue to grow our women's soccer program. She is a wonderful role model and has been in their shoes and lived their experience. With roots in the greater Auburn and Kent areas as well as her soccer connections in the community, we are confident she will continue to elevate the Gator soccer program."

Beyond her time on the field, Dickson also serves as an instructor of Hot Yoga, Cycling and Barre in the Kent and Auburn area. Savanna is married and a mom of two. She is a lover of the outdoors and anything sports related, traveling and watching her kids grow.
