Miller's 44 Points Lifts Clackamas to 82-58 Win vs Skagit Valley

PASCO, Wash. - The Clackamas Cougars finished the Sweet 16 round with an 82-58 victory over Skagit Valley at the 2025 NWAC Women's Basketball Championship presented by Golf Universe, on Thursday night at Columbia Basin College.

Mollie Miller was the story of the night as she dropped a career-high 44 points, making 18 of 27 baskets, including eight three-pointers. Miller was on fire all night as she had the most points in a game thus far in the tournament. Her teammate Toni Coleman helped set her up throughout the evening, recording eight assists to go with 13 points and 13 rebounds. Braylee Riturban also made a notable impact, scoring 13 points and adding six assists to her performance.

The game was closely played through the first half as the Cougars led just 36-30 after 20 minutes. Skagit Valley held its largest lead in the second quarter of six points. However, Clackamas broke out for 28 points in the third quarter to take a 64-47 advantage, eventually closing out the contest by over 20 points.

Camryn Kerr and Sarah Cook were standout performers for the Cardinals. Kerr led the team with 10 rebounds and contributed nine points, going 5-for-6 from the free-throw line. Cook was the leading scorer with 20 points and added 10 boards for the double-double. The Cardinals got to the free-throw line effectively throughout the game, making 17-of-24 attempts, but shot 1-for-15 from beyond the arc. 

The Cougars head to the Elite 8 round and will next face East No. 1 seed Walla Walla in a rematch of the 2024 opening round game. The game will take place on Friday at 4 p.m. to close out the first week of the women's tournament and cut the field down to four teams.
