Spokane Women Convincingly Claim 23rd NWAC Track & Field Title

GRESHAM, Ore. - The Spokane women's track and field team had a dominating day two to cruise to its 23rd all-time NWAC Championship by nearly 100 points on Tuesday at Mt. Hood Community College.

The Spokane women had five individual titles but scored numerous points through their depth in events such as the 800, 1500, high jump, long jump, triple jump and javelin. The Sasquatch scored an impressive 31 of 39 possible points in the triple jump with seven of the eight podium finishers. 

Lane finished in second place with 168 points and had an impressive eight individual champions while also winning both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Spokane's title ends Lane's run of three-straight championships. Clark finished third with 90.5 points while Southwestern Oregon took fourth with 67.5.

Spokane's Emma Glanzer was named the Women's High Point Athlete of the Meet as well as the Women's Field Athlete of the Meet. Glanzer led all female competitors with 29.5 points, winning the triple jump and long jump while place third in the high jump, seventh in the 200 meters and was a member of Spokane's second place 4x100 relay team.

Lane's Sara McKen earned NWAC Women's Track Athlete of the Meet as she won both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash for the second-straight year. She was also on the championship 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams.

Spokane's John Spatz was voted the NWAC Women's Track & Field Coach of the Year for leading the Sasquatch to the title.
