WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Bellevue College men's and women's tennis teams swept the NWAC Tennis Championships titles on Sunday at the Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club.

The men's team, playing in a round-robin format, won first place points in all six singles brackets and all three doubles brackets for a maximum score of 128 points. As a whole, the team did not lose an entire set in any of their matches.

Bellevue's Cameron Yang was the Men's Tennis Player of the Year as he won the No. 1 singles title, only dropping one game out of 25 total. The Bulldogs' Zaid Khan won the No. 2 singles title, Jackson Stumpf took the No. 3 singles bracket, Hunter Austin won the No. 4 singles, Manny Nguyen won the No. 5 singles and Jack Nagler took home the No. 6 singles title as he went 24-0 in games played.

In doubles, Yang and Khan teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles. Nagler and Austin won the No. 2 doubles, and Anderson and Houser won the No. 3 doubles. The title for the Bulldogs is their fifth in a row overall, dating back to 2017.

Treasure Valley took second place with 68 points, earning second in five of the singles brackets and in one doubles. Spokane finished third with 49 points.

The women's bracket, which is played as a single-elimination, team bracket, was won by Bellevue. The Bulldogs took down defending NWAC Champions Highline in the finals by a 6-3 score. Despite Highline winning both the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles matches, the Bulldogs showed their depth by winning 6 of the remaining 7 matches.

Highline's Kinsey Lockhart was named the Women's Tennis Player of the Year as she went undefeated in both singles and doubles. Lockhart won her No. 1 singles match and paired up with Riley Cordova to win the No. 1 doubles.

Spokane defeated Treasure Valley 8-1 in the women's consolation bracket to take third place overall.

The women's title for the Bulldogs is their seventh out of eight championships dating back to 2014. Highline broke the streak of six titles last season.

Bellevue head coach Micah Perron was named the Coach of the Year for both the men's and women's tennis programs. Spokane's Joren Hooper and Molly Kirkham were selected for their respective Wally Heidenson Sportsmanship Awards.
