NWAC Partners with Cascade Collegiate League for 2024 Season

VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) announced a partnership with the Cascade Collegiate League (CCL), a wood-bat summer baseball league that features playing opportunities for NWAC, NAIA and NCAA baseball players.

Managed by current and former college coaches and players, the CCL plays 24 regular season games at Wheeler Field in Centralia, Washington, followed by post-season play. Built from the best players across all six league affiliates, the CCL Showcase Team plays an independent schedule against other collegiate teams and members of the West Coast League.

"It's a lifelong honor for the Cascade Collegiate League to partner with the NWAC and continue to provide competitive developmental opportunities from players across all member institutions," said CCL Commissioner Ben Kruger. "We are ecstatic about this new relationship and will work tirelessly to enhance the playing experience for years to come."

The partnership will provide further exposure for the growth of the CCL while the NWAC will evaluate data on student-athletes from the conference playing in the CCL. The 2023 rosters included over 60 NWAC student-athletes from schools such as Big Bend, Blue Mountain, Centralia, Chemeketa, Clark, Columbia Basin, Everett, Grays Harbor, Olympic, Skagit Valley, SW Oregon, Umpqua, Wenatchee Valley and Yakima Valley.

"NWAC is pleased to partner with "Cascade Collegiate League" said Marco Azurdia, Executive Director of the NWAC. "The Cascade Collegiate League will provide potential NWAC baseball players an opportunity to develop their skills and get exposure to NWAC baseball players. Additionally, it will provide current NWAC baseball players continued chances to hone their skills as they seek to play at the next level. Thank you to Cascade Collegiate League for this partnership."

To be accepted into the CCL, players must be an active member and in good standing with their collegiate baseball program. The playing season will take place over eight weeks in June and July.
