Madeline Johnson, Women's Soccer Defensive - Clark

Freshman • Defender
Camas HS • Camas, WA

Johnson was a key factor in Clark's 2-1 win over previously undefeated Lower Columbia, ending the Red Devils' eight game winning streak. Prior to Saturday's game, Lower Columbia had not allowed a goal all season and were outscoring opponents 43-0. Johnson played standout defense for the Penguins while also assisting on the game-winning goal. She also led the team to a 4-0 shutout of South Puget Sound.

"As our freshman center back, Madeline played a full 90 minutes in a pivotal win over the #1 West seed, Lower Columbia College," said head coach Maddy McWright. "Not only did she command our defense with her calmness and leadership, but she also delivered the game-winning assist, showcasing her ability to contribute both defensively and offensively. Week in and week out, MJ is someone we can rely on to be consistent, and that speaks volumes to her character and work ethic. Her stability and resilience at the back are crucial to our team's success, making her a standout defensive player deserving of this recognition."
