Amaro had a pair of big games for the Dolphins, leading them to a 2-0 week with wins of 79-67 over Bellevue and 93-69 at Olympic. Against Bellevue, the sophomore played all 40 minutes as he dropped 36 points on 13-for-23 shooting. He also had six rebounds and three steals. Against Olympic, Amaro posted 26 points, nine boards, three assists and three blocks. He averaged 31 points and 7.5 rebounds for the week.

"Joel was very efficient this past week," said head coach Aaron Mackey. "His energy and effort on and off the court is a big reason for our team's success this week. His lead-by-example approach this season is refreshing and contagious."
