NWAC Announces 2025-28 Championship Bid Selections

VANCOUVER, Wash. - At the Oct. 10, 2024 NWAC Executive Board meeting, members of the board entertained multiple high-quality championship bids to host NWAC championships for the 2025-2028 academic years. After the presentations, the Executive Board awarded the following:

FALL 2025-2027

Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships
Spokane Valley Cross Course, hosted by the Community Colleges of Spokane and Spokane Sports. 

Men's & Women's Soccer Championships
Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila, Washington, hosted by Peninsula College.

Volleyball Championship
SRC Fitness Center in Pasco, Washington, hosted by Columbia Basin College and Visit Tri-Cities. For the first time, the Elite 8 volleyball tournament will be played on Holden Court in the SRC Fitness Center on the campus of CBC.

WINTER 2026-2028

Men's & Women's Basketball Championships
SRC Fitness Center in Pasco, Washington, hosted by Columbia Basin College and Visit Tri-Cities. The men's and women's tournaments will remain at CBC's SRC Fitness Center for three more years after a successful first two tournaments. The 2025 tournaments will be the third and final year of the current bid.

SPRING 2026-2028

Baseball Championship
David Story Field in Longview, Washington, hosted by Lower Columbia College. The tournament has been hosted at LCC since 2005. 

Men's and Women's Golf Championships
Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, Washington.

Softball Championship
Delta Park - Owen Sports Complex in Portland, Oregon, hosted by Clackamas Community College, Sport Oregon and Travel Portland. The softball championship returns to Delta Park for three more years after a successful first two tournaments. The 2025 tournament will be the third and final year of the current bid.

Men's & Women's Tennis Championships
Yakima Tennis Club (YTC) in Yakima, Washington, hosted by the YTC and the Yakima Valley Sports Commission. This will be the first time in Yakima after the past three years at the Wenatchee Racquet & Athletic Club. 

Men's & Women's Track and Field Championships
Mt. Hood Community College Track & Field Stadium in Gresham, Oregon, hosted by MHCC and Clackamas Community College. The meet has been hosted at MHCC since 2016.

Men's & Women's Track and Field Multi-Events Championships
Spokane Falls Community College campus, hosted by Community Colleges of Spokane and Spokane Sports. 

About Northwest Athletic Conference: 

The NWAC is the athletic governing body of two year colleges in Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia. There are 15 men's and women's sports and 10 championship events.  Approximately 4,200 student-athletes compete in the NWAC representing a student population of over 400,000. Many NWAC student-athletes continue their academic and athletic careers at the NAIA-NCAA levels. The NWAC promotes the three ideals of Character, Competition, and Community. NWAC…..more than sports.
