Job Announcement: Head Women's Soccer Coach, Green River

Description
The Green River College women's soccer coach will be responsible for all aspects of the women's soccer program, including planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training and performance of student-athletes, along with fiscal management. The duties of this position must be conducted in adherence with the policies, rules and regulations of the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) and Green River College.

Must be able to work and interact effectively with other coaches, staff, student-athletes, the general student body and administrators.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Recruit student athletes in accordance with NWAC athletic regulations, conference and college values, and commitment to student success
Coordinate Letters of Intent and scholarship awards. Work with athletic director to determine which athletes will receive letters of intent and the scholarship amount each is to receive within NWAC guidelines
Ensure compliance with eligibility regulations. Stay current on eligibility regulations; inform athletes of eligibility requirements
Coach/teach individual and team women's soccer strategies to players, and organize and plan day-to-day operations for the women's soccer program
Assist students in achieving their educational goals, which includes organizing and implementing team study tables
Help maintain a competitive program; direct assistant coaches; meet deadlines set forth by the NWAC; comply with NWAC regulations and support the NWAC and Green River College philosophy and mission
Transport student-athletes to team events and away contests; help with necessary travel arrangements
Develop fundraising strategies to help raise funds to support the program
Demonstrate a commitment to anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion and the ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds
Responsible for developing practice and game schedules
Inventory and maintenance of all sports equipment and uniforms; must follow proper purchasing procedures as required by the State of Washington and described by the college business office
Serve as a role model to assist the team members in developing and displaying appropriate attitudes, sportsmanship and behavior expected of athletic teams and individuals representing Green River College
Responsible for fostering an environment that provides a quality student-athlete experience
Hiring and supervising assistant coaches
Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA). This includes completing annual CSA training and ensuring the entire coaching staff, volunteer coaches or paid coaches, also complete the training
Timely processing of appropriate institutional and conference paperwork and reports
Other duties as assigned; responsible for the women's soccer program as a whole

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience as a soccer coach.
Availability to attend practices and games on weekday afternoons and evenings, and weekends.
Demonstrated understanding of intercollegiate soccer rules and regulations.
Commitment to a philosophy of promoting student success.
Availability to travel out of state as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coaching/playing at the college level.
Bachelor's Degree

Conditions of Employment:
In order to operate the vehicles associated with team travel, the successful candidate must meet the following conditions of employment:
Current First Aid/CPR certification
Valid unrestricted Washington State Driver's license, and
Proof of personal vehicle insurance
