Bellevue Women, North Idaho Men Claim NWAC Golf Titles

YAKIMA, Wash. – Maintaining their lead after Day 1, the Bellevue women's golf team and the North Idaho men's golf team each won by over 10 strokes to claim the NWAC Golf Championship titles on Monday at the Apple Tree Golf Course.

The Bellevue women shot +46 overall after an impressive second round score of 238, two strokes better than their first-round score. The Bulldogs' Sarah Lawrence, who won all-four conference matches, was once again the leader as she earned medalist honors with a score of +6. Lawrence shot +2 in round two and was the leader by 10 strokes.

Bellevue's Tori Berger tied for second with North Idaho's Bella Gopwani at +16. Spokane had the next two finishers with Alyssa Amann at +17 and Courtney Stratton at +23. The Sasquatch placed second overall with a +58-team score, followed by North Idaho at +63.

The women's title is the fourth overall for the Bulldogs and first since 2015.

North Idaho's men's team won its fourth title in a row after winning from 2017-19. The Cardinals shot +26 as a team and +17 on day two. James Swan took medalist honors, shooting +3 overall. He shot 73 on day one followed by 74 on day two to win by one stroke.

Bellevue's Dalton Dean placed second at +4. Southwestern Oregon's Tyler Garner, who competed as an individual, shot +5 to take third. Zach Martin of Spokane shot +6 for fourth.
