Swan won the Spokane Spring Invitational at MeadowWood Golf Course on April 19-20, 2021. He shot a 139 finishing seven strokes ahead of teammate, Garrett Bland (146). 

“James has been solid all spring and I knew he was going to be atop the leader board this week," said Head Coach Russell Grove. "He’s a hard worker and has a great attitude on the course. On Tuesday he got off to a little bit of a rocky start but we had a good talk and he was able to get things back on track. I’m very proud of the way he played and it won’t be his last college win by any means. A lot more coming for him."
