
Red Devils Earn Spot in Final Four with 77-49 Victory Over Treasure Valley
PASCO, Wash. - The Lower Columbia Red Devils enjoyed another dominating victory, defeating Treasure Valley 77-49 to advance to the NWAC Final Four of the 2025 Men's Basketball Championship presented by Golf Universe on Saturday at Columbia Basin College.
With this victory, Lower Columbia advances to the Final Four for the first time since 2017 after falling the past two years in the Elite Eight round.
Javares Reid led the Red Devils with 16 points, adding five rebounds off the bench. Malik Brown recorded 12 points on 6-of-13 shooting and added four total rebounds. James Grose also made significant contributions, scoring 14 points, with a strong shooting performance of 6-of-9 from the field and seven rebounds. David Young was effective on both ends of the court, scoring 12 points with five steals.
In the opening half, LCC established an early lead with a strong start, including a layup by Malik Brown at 19:37 and a 3-pointer from James Grose at 18:45, pushing the score to 5-0. The Red Devils maintained momentum with defensive prowess, as evidenced by David Young's steal at 17:47 leading to a layup by James Grose shortly after. The Chukars struggled to convert opportunities, missing consecutive free throws at 15:14 and experiencing multiple turnovers, contributing to LCC's largest lead of the half of 19 points with 3:16 to play. The Red Devils ended the half up 36-21.
In the second half, LCC extended their lead over TVCC, with a notable contribution from Laila who scored multiple key points, including a layup at 18:35 and a 3-pointer at 15:29. Jacob Martinez of TVCC showed defensive prowess early in the half with a layup following a steal at 19:26. Despite TVCC's effort to close the gap, which included a 3-pointer by Eddie Rodriguez at 12:42, LCC maintained control. The Red Devils reached their largest lead of 29 points with 6:08 remaining in the half, highlighted by Keshawn Lewis' layup.
Eddie Rodriguez led the Chukars with 14 points off the bench. Ashraf Barsham had 13 points and seven rebounds.
The Red Devils will return to Pasco next week and will face West Region foe Highline in the Final Four at 5 p.m. on March 15 with a spot in the championship game on the line.
