Former South Puget Sound guard Luke Chavez and current Clipper sophomore forward Trinity Benetton received Sports Star of the Year (college) awards awards from Experience Olympia & Beyond, Thurston County's Sports Commission, at their second annual Sports Awards ceremony.

Luke Chavez
Luke Chavez was the leader of the best Saint Martin's Men's Basketball team in school history this past season. The Saints reached the Sweet 16 and were ranked as high as 8th in the NCAA. The senior was named the GNAC Player of the Week twice and was also selected to the NCAA West Regional All-Tournament team.

Trinity Benetton
Trinity Benetton is the first ever South Puget Sound Community College Women's Basketball NWAC Western Region MVP. She was 2nd overall in NWAC scoring at 20 points per game and 3rd in overall rebounding at 10 per game. Trinity exemplifies strong leadership, dedication and sportsmanship by being the hardest working student-athlete on the court and in the classroom, giving everything she has to the SPSCC Women's Basketball family through all the ups and downs a season brings.
