Former Shoreline standout Kory Longaker named 2nd Team NAIA Baseball All-American

BELLEVUE, NE -- Former Shoreline College standout and Bellevue University Bruin Kory Longaker was named 2nd Team NAIA All-American for the 2019 season. Longaker was also honored as a 2nd team All-American in the 2018 season.

He helped lead the Bruins to the NAIA World Series held in Lewiston, ID where the team finished tied for 5th place. The Bruins ended the year with a 48-16 overall record and winners of 41 of their last 44 games. In addition, he was named the 2018-19 Bellevue University Male Athlete of the Year.

Longaker earned first team all-NSAA honors while playing all 64 games at short for the Bruins. He posted a .376/.440/.659 slash line to go along with 45 extra-base hits, 58 RBI, and 19 stolen bases.

He led the team in hits (97), doubles (29), runs (83), and stolen bases (19) while playing terrific defense at the shortstop position as he committed just 14 errors in 272 chances for a .949 fielding percentage.

Longaker finished the season by leading the NAIA in runs scored (83) and assists (184) while ranking in the top 10 in several other major offensive categories: doubles (2nd), total bases (5th), and hits (6th).
